Stephen Mrstik age 59 of Iowa City died Sunday January 3 2010 at home of natural causes. Memorial services are set for January 8 at Gay Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service with later family graveside rites at Thorpe Cemetery. A memorial scholarship fund is planned. He was born April 2 1950 in Iowa City and held degrees from North Iowa Area Community College Kirkwood Community College and Mankato State University. He taught environmental technology at Kirkwood and worked as a grant coordinator and instructor. He is survived by four children sister and several relatives.
