Hearing set on jailhouse informant in five deaths case
A March 15 federal hearing in Cedar Rapids will decide if information from jailed informant Robert McNeese may be used against Angela Johnson, 36, of Klemme, charged with aiding and abetting the 1993 deaths of five northern Iowa residents. McNeese implicated Johnson after guiding authorities to remains, including those of Lori Duncan and her daughters, Kandi and Amber. U.S. Attorney Stephen Rapp argues Sixth Amendment protections apply. Johnson's rights, he says, were not violated. Dustin Hanken, Johnson’s boyfriend and prime suspect, is imprisoned on unrelated drug charges.
