Bliss Explains Why Crop Control Is Favored In Iowa
In Ames Director R K Bliss reviews factors behind continuing the corn hog adjustment for 1936 1937. He cites limited forego outlets and risks of excess hog production flooding markets at low prices. The plan allows modest acreage above 1935, preserves feed, and avoids unsalable surpluses while permitting up to 100 percent production for certain farmers.

Moisture Meter Speeds Grain Inspections at Markets
G A Cabinett, federal supervisor of grains at Cedar Rapids, said abnormal high moisture in 1935 corn and wheat has driven more tests. An electrical moisture meter speeds testing, though it misreads newly mixed wet and dry corn or kiln dried corn, requiring evaporation method checks for accurate results.
