Coe College Historian John J. Murray Named Knight in Belgium
John J. Murray emeritus Henrietta Arnold professor of history at Coe College will be honored as a Knight in the Order of the Crown by King Baudouin of Belgium. The ceremony on the Coe campus Feb. 11 will be led by Deputy Consul General George DeBeir. Murray, 65, is noted for scholarly work on Belgium and the low countries and is author of The Cultural Bridge. He continues research on Iowa Electric's centennial history and writes daily from his campus office.
