Education districts in Linn Johnson Benton Cedar Jones Washington and Iowa counties will lose more than 810000 in special education funds after a state budget panel lowered weighting for handicapped students. The Grant Wood area education agency foresees an additional 21349 loss to its special education division and plans to inform lawmakers about the impact while exploring interim evaluation needs.
