Health Care Union presses overtime pay overhaul

Iowa City officials and SEIU Local 199 press for a uniform overtime policy at UI Health Care amid contract talks for 2015-2017. Iowa tax receipts jump in December despite overall lag

State data show December tax receipts rising 23.5 percent from a year earlier to 109.8 million, aided by delayed November deposits of 16 million in individual income tax and 26 million in sales tax. Personal income tax up 92.9 million and sales tax up 77.1 million. corporate taxes down 3 million. Overall, analysts say results remain below annual estimates but reflect typical seasonal gains.
