Prizing Iowa Corridor to Boost the Biosciences Initiative
The Gazette urges prizes to spur Iowa biosciences ideas from labs, fairs, and classrooms. It cites the Eastern Iowa Science and Technology Fair in Cedar Rapids and named students Millmier Marquardt and Gross as past champions. The piece highlights collaborations among BIOWA, Iowa Centers for Enterprise, universities, chambers, and local groups to fund annual awards linking university research to market opportunities. It notes a $1.2 million Biosciences Alliance grant and encourages young Iowans to remain in state for bioscience careers.
