Lakeside Casino Opened After Tech Glitch in Osceola
The Lakeside Casino and Resort near Osceola opened for gambling after a weeklong delay caused by computer problems not linked to Y2K. General Manager Joe Massa said a Las Vegas firm was on site and testing revealed issues. The $50 million riverboat casino, with a 1,500 passenger boat, hotel, convention center and restaurant, welcomed guests with free prime rib and champagne on New Year’s Eve.
