Fire forces evacuation of Waterloo hotel
A fire started by an overheated exhaust fan in the ceiling forced the Quality Inn Suites in downtown Waterloo to evacuate early Friday. Smoke rose through all five floors at about 6 a.m. twelve occupied rooms were emptied and one person treated for breathing problems.
