Stolen Rabbits Saddens Elderly Cedar Rapids Woman
Marilyn Gilbert reported two pet rabbits stolen from her 87-year-old mother Madge Ford’s rural Cedar Rapids home. A male and female breeding pair vanished from their cage while about 20 smaller rabbits remained, with a spent shotgun shell found nearby. West Union teen dies from gunshot wound
Fayette County Sheriff's Department reports 17 year old Larry Moore of Hawkeye died Thursday night from a personal safety related gunshot wound at the Gerald Oak land residence in West Union. He is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs Rodney Moore.

A 12 year old Panama girl Teresa Mills died after her sled crossed a county road in Shelby County Iowa near Panama. Driver James Schwerey said he did not see the child. No charges were filed. Also killed on Highway 141 nearắt western Iowa Martin Pranschke 76 after veering left of center. Michael T. Smith of Soldier Iowa was in serious condition in an Omaha hospital. Passenger Mark Gosseler of Ute treated and released in Denison hospital. Ute lies in Crawford County about 120 miles northeast of Council Bluffs.
