Clinton plan hides S&L bailout costs in deficit view

President Clinton and aides kept the costs of financing the savings and loan bailout out of the deficit estimates in the new economic plan. Officials say the $15 billion to $25 billion bailout bill was not included in the plans shown at the February 17 address or in early April budget numbers.
