Green Design to Draft Wall Replacement at Linn County Courthouse
The Linn County Board of Supervisors informally approved Howard R. Green Co. to design and perform related work for new walls at the south end of May's Island near the Linn County Courthouse. The design contract will be formally acted on today with work set to begin at 7 p.m. March 12. The countywide levy for next year rises to 6.48157 per 1000 of value, funding supervisors, sheriff, auditor, treasurer, recorder, elections, mental health, child support recovery and court expenses. The rural levy increases to 3.23739 per 1000, supporting rural libraries and secondary roads. Those outside cities pay both levies. Budget Director Claudine Hixson notes most growth stems from human services, up 11.4 percent in the proposed budget.
