Franklin gained the sectional final by beating Wilson 65 to 50 at the Coe fieldhouse. Mike Tousey led with 21 points, Denny Meyers added 19, Jim Bearle 14, and Dave Bradley 10 as the Bolts built a 46-31 edge late in the third quarter and never relinquished the lead. Cliff Svoboda was held to nine for Wilson as Franklin's defense and balanced scoring sealed the victory.
