Death of Harold M. Edwards in Cedar Rapids area truck crash
Harold M. Edwards 40 of the Allison hotel was killed at 7 40 p m Tuesday when struck by a light truck on Highway 30 east of Cedar Rapids. The death was ruled an accidental roadway incident with Edwards dying from cerebral hemorrhage and skull fractures. Edwards was a federal land bank appraiser who had been walking to fetch gasoline after his car stalled on Indian Creek hill. The driver James Krueger said he did not see anyone in the road. Mrs Edwards and Loren Schrader corroborated. The body was taken to Mount Pleasant for burial. Deputy Sheriff Larry Condon investigated the scene and noted the Edwardses were returning to Cedar Rapids when their car ran out of gas.
