Old schoolhouse fire damages rural Lafay ette area

A wooden one room schoolhouse near Lafayette between Alburnett and Center Point burned Tuesday afternoon. Linn County Deputies and Alburnett firefighters arrived just after 4 p.m. and found the structure with a partially collapsed roof though walls stood. Firefighters extinguished the blaze before the building was leveled.
