A Parazil vehicle was struck broadside by a northbound Denson auto on Highway 149 as investigators continue. Friday morning, 16 year old Thomas Eugene Steward of 617 Tenth Avenue SE died at Crescent Street and Blake Boulevard SE, bringing Cedar Rapids’ traffic deaths this year to three, one fewer than last year at this time.

Case Dismissed for Attleboro Juvenile Driver in 1941
NEW BEDFORD Mass AP on Feb 16 1941 an Attleboro juvenile was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license. In county superior court Friday the case was dismissed because both the defendant and the complaining officer are dead. It was one of eight cases presented to Judge C Edward Rowe for dismissal. District Attorney Philip Rollins said there are similar cases dating back before 1966 to be disposed of.

The February 15 report shows meat animal prices up 13 percent from mid January but 8 percent below a year ago. Hogs rose to 19.20 per hundredweight, poultry egg prices fell sharply offsetting broilers, oranges lifted fruit prices, vegetables stayed above January levels but below last year, and dairy products were up 4 percent year over year.
