Decision on C R Post Office Not Expected Soon
No decision on adding to Cedar Rapids post office or pursuing another plan. Senior Engineer J C Parker in St Louis says it will be several weeks before a recommendation. The Iowa Natural Resources Commission wants preliminary drawings of parking and maneuvering space that would affect the river channel before approving any expansion.

Cedar Rapids teen hurt when driverless car romped through area
A 16 year old Cedar Rapids boy sustained minor injuries when a 1951 Buick with automatic transmission rolled from a repair scene on Second Avenue SE. Danny H Arnold clung to the hood as the car ran wild, struck buildings near A and B avenues NE, hit two trucks and a loading dock, then the boy was treated at St Luke's hospital. The incident followed a throttle fix after which the car unexpectedly shifted into gear.

Linn county rural Red Cross groups will meet Friday as district chairmen are named for the inauguration of a district kickoff system. General Chairman Glenn Mc Clintic says sessions should be well attended and that the national goal will sustain Red Cross activities locally and globally.
