New University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital Opens for Patients
The Iowa City facility begins moving patients into seven of 14 floors including pediatric cardiac and cancer units. A 6-year-old Bettendorf patient awaiting a heart transplant is in a Level 3 room as staff complete the move. Remaining floors open later. total project cost 360 million dollars with a 507000 square foot main campus addition.
