Four Amish Children Die In Kentucky Creek Crash
A horse drawn buggy carrying an Amish family in Mayfield Kentucky toppled into a rain swollen creek during a heavy thunderstorm killing four children aged five months five seven and eleven. Two adults and three other children survived. The family used a local community telephone before traveling home. The father described the trip as mainly to call relatives in Missouri. Local authorities stated the death toll as a tragic accident amidst flash flood warnings and ongoing search efforts.
