Iowa Acts to Create Juvenile Court Divisions in 21 Districts
A new bill introduced in the Iowa legislature proposes a juvenile court division in each of the 21 judicial districts replacing parts of the 1962 code. The plan would place a chief judge in charge of juvenile cases, with flexibility for other district judges. The measure follows two years of study by the legislative research bureau and advisory committees led by Father Cyril Engler and Judge Forrest Eastman.
