A five story Loop fire trapped thousands of commuters as flames swept a historic building. Fire crews fought the blaze with seven hoselines and a fire boat, spraying water from cisterns and cutting roof vents to thwart explosions. Damage is estimated at 150000 dollars and a firefighter suffered a possible concussion after an ice slip.
