The trial spanned 27 days with a 36 member jury delivering unanimous guilty verdicts.
Hollywood AP reports Norma Shearer is very ill with a throat ailment. Dr. Joe Pressman stated her condition is not alarming. she was hospitalized Wednesday. By Friday her temperature reached 105, prompting a three-doctor consult. by Saturday it had cooled to 103 and the streptococcus infection was subsiding.
