Family seeks accountability after man’s suicide in Cedar Rapids facility
Jan Allen Clark, 51, of Delaware Iowa killed himself after leaving The Abbe Center in Cedar Rapids on an eight hour pass. His family says the facility misjudged his need for stronger care and voices concerns about his treatment and transitions. They cite prior threats and limited responses from doctors and officials. The DIA report found no violations after seven investigations into The Abbe Center since 2006.
