Gilman man marks 25 years on dialysis at UI Hospitals

Denny Burgess a 53-year-old Gilman resident marks 25 years on dialysis with a UI Hospitals and Clinics Renal Dialysis Center reception. He began in 1986 and now uses nocturnal home dialysis five nights a week, living a full life with support from doctors nurses and family.

Identical twins 98 die within a month of each other

Thekla Dohrmann died February 20 and her twin Irene Bertram died January 13 within five weeks of each other. Both were Lutheran ministers' wives, raised in Iowa, and lived in Cedar Rapids before moving to live with Thekla’s son Tim Dohrmann in March.
