Iowa fans and national viewers will see the Hawkeyes clash with Michigan in a televised Saturday contest at Iowa City. Minnesota Gophers will be among the many watching as coaches and players prepare for a highly scouted Big Ten showdown.

Iowa Minnesota tilt on WMT Television

Three Iowa stations will carry the Iowa Minnesota basketball game Monday from Minneapolis at 8 p.m. WMT-TV Cedar Rapids channel 2 will air the sellout event expected to draw over 19 000 fans at the Minnesota field house. Other stations include WHO TV Des Moines and KGLO TV Mason City. The telecast originates from WCCO TV Minneapolis. WMT TV will also air Iowa Michigan from Iowa fieldhouse Saturday at 2 p.m.

Saddler Faces Red Top Davis In Madison Square Garden

Featherweight champion Sandy Saddler defends his title tonight in a 15 round bout against Teddy Red Top Davis at Madison Square Garden. Saddler, 28, seeks his first defense in 41 months and is a 7-5 favorite over Davis, who is from Hartford and has a 59-47-2 record. Cornell College aims to claim the Midwest conference basketball title outright in the final two games at Northfield Minnesota. The Rams beat Coe 67 58 to secure at least a share of the crown, improving to 18 2 for the season while Coe pressed hard in a stubborn loss.

Wheatland dominated Stanwood 70 to 35 to clinch a district title and keep its bid for a state tournament berth. Wheatland led from start to finish in Thursday’s class B district final.
