Cedar Rapids opens permanent west-side library branch after flood
The Cedar Rapids Public Library unveils its permanent west-side branch at 3750 Williams Blvd SW, a $2 million project named for Marilyn Ladd. The 88 year old Frances Woods praises the improvements as staff move 60 000 to 70 000 books to the new site ahead of a Saturday grand opening. The new location will serve as main branch until the downtown library reopens in June with added amenities including 20 public computers and wireless Internet.
