Farm cash income expected to stay flat
USDA projections show farm cash income remaining flat as federal price supports decline and farm debt rises. Keith Collins says the trend is concerning but not a crisis, with lending institutions in good shape and debt capacity substantial. Rominger previews a 1995 farm bill hearing and continued federal program support despite debate over funding cuts. Exports to China rise, boosting overall farm income, while red meat and pork output climbs through fall.
