Council Passes Kruidenier Plan to Rotate Police Chief
The council upholds Kruidenier s reorganization allowing Christensen to rotate with others. The captain of the day shift would handle police court duties with the assistant chief pending full attendance at civil sessions. Mayor Stepanek opposes the move and refused to discuss it, while councilors backed Kruidenier after talks with other members. The amended ordinance keeps the assistant chief junior to the chief and gives him acting powers when the chief is absent. The rotation of Christensen is to take effect next Wednesday, with third reading set for Thursday.
