Edgewood Locker Thrives Amid Decline in Local Meat Lockers
Edgewood Locker, run by brothers Terry and Jim Kerns since 1966, expands from a two-person shop to a full service beef pork and venison processor with retail wholesale catering and an event center. The firm processes about 30 cattle and 60 hogs weekly and last year handled 3200 deer plus 130000 pounds of venison. Deer season drives peak demand from November to January.
