Cedar Rapids cruiser totaled in early morning chase
Cedar Rapids police cruiser was totaled after a patrol pursuit ended when the fleeing vehicle struck the cruiser head on. Chad Clark 21 of 1227 K St SW was arrested on felony assault on a peace officer with a dangerous weapon and eluding as a result of the incident. He had a breath test showing 0.138 percent BAC. Clark faces up to 10 years in prison and a 15000 fine with bail set at 19500 dollars. Idle sustained a left shoulder injury.

Woman Accused of Multi-Withdrawal After Name Mix-Up
Cedar Rapids police say Sheron Harris, 40, withdrew more than 16000 from the account of a woman with a similar name after the Collins Community Credit Union confused the two. The first withdrawal followed by five more trips to the bank led to the arrest at her home. Sharon Harris reported the missing funds and aided the investigation.

Marion police sting nets two men in prostitution probe
Two Cedar Rapids men, John Gruca and Dennis Oberreuter, were arrested after an undercover female officer solicited sex in Marion. Police placed an ad in the escort section. about 50 calls were received and 10 appointments set, two of which led to arrests. Each faces up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted.
