Hearing Set on Black Hawk County Attorney Juror Policy
A three judge panel will hear evidence on whether Black Hawk County Attorney James Metcalf should be disciplined for allegedly setting a policy to keep blacks off juries. The Iowa Supreme Court chief justice will appoint judges from outside the county. The Iowa Attorney General's Office acts as prosecutor in a grievance proceeding, not a criminal case. Metcalf’s attorney says he denies racially motivated jury policies and looks forward to presenting his side.
