Mangos Ice Cream Introduces Mexican Treats in Cedar Rapids
Edwin Gonzalez and Emma Billa opened Mangos Ice Cream on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids in July serving mangonadas, mango and tres leches ice creams, walking tacos, elotes, and Mexican candies. Gonzalez, born in Mexico City and raised in Madison, moved to Iowa in 2011 to pursue family ties and business plans with Kirkwood Community College’s SBDC. The couple aims to add culture to Cedar Rapids and followed a dream after saving money and planning with guidance from the local program.
