Rebounders Seek Corporate Sponsors For 1986 All-Star Game
Cedar Rapids businessmen behind the Super Shootout suspend the event until 1986 to pursue corporate sponsorship and a TV contract. President Dr. William DeKock said the plan is to find a financial package compatible with NCAA rules and attract national marketing. The 1986 game is set for April 2 after the Final Four in Dallas. The group retains player and coach support and hopes sponsorship will resolve identity concerns. The Shootout remains the only NCAA certified post season all star game.
