Dr. Carl Kesler of the Cedar Rapids board of education and president of the Iowa Association of School Boards will attend two national education meetings in Atlantic City this weekend. The death of 43 year old Lee R. Beardsley former proprietor of the Coe college book store was ruled a death by his own action. He was found shot in the head in a car at Lansing Michigan airport Friday night and died Saturday in a Lansing hospital. A .22 caliber rifle was found beside him. Coroner’s investigation confirmed the ruling.
Federal Judge Henry N. Graven Tuesday took the civil suit United States of America v Roy H Marsh under advisement. The government seeks 6158 60 recovery plus 1813 51 interest for work with the CCC from July 1 1938 to February 18 1942 claiming Marsh was a Canadian citizen and not entitled to pay. The judge also heard proceedings in three other civil cases Tuesday.

A semi-trailer owned by C. W. Hausman of Waterloo skidded on icy pavement and jackknifed near the Louisa viaduct on highway 150, shearing off a light pole and cutting power for about two hours. No injuries were reported.

A blaze at Ferris Institute in Big Rapids Michigan destroyed the commerce and pharmacy buildings. Six people, including three students, were burned fighting the flames. The fire began on the third floor in a room or office. origin and total damages remained undetermined.
The Reconstruction Finance Corporation filed a foreclosure suit in U S district court seeking 36.5 million against Lustron Corp of Cleveland and 15.5 million against president Carl G Strandlund. The filing seeks 37.5 million in total related to the mass production housing venture.

Pazour born June 29 1913 in Czechoslovakia came to Cedar Rapids at age four and was an overseas World War II veteran. Survived by father Frank Pazour and sister Mrs Earl Spjut both of Cedar Rapids.
Joseph Hejkal 72 of Marion route one died in a Cedar Rapids hospital at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday. Born in Czechoslovakia on November 28 1877 he came to the United States 35 years ago and lived mainly in farming. Surviving are his wife four children a brother in Germany and five grandchildren. Services will be at the Janeba funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with cremation committal. Friends may call at
William L. Doyle of 429 Fifth Avenue SE died Monday. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church conducted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. John M. Molloy.
