Meth Lab Chain Ties Eastern Iowa Police Probe
Police investigated four meth labs across Eastern Iowa from Saturday to Tuesday. Suspects include David Alcorn charged with manufacturing and possessing meth and precursor substances. Loren Swailes Jennifer Swailes charged with possession and precursor offenses. Gary Klett and Jenny Klett charged after a loaded firearm and an active lab were found near Washington and Fairfield Court Apartments.

Vilsack Denies Anamosa Inmate Commation Bid
Governor Tom Vilsack denied Richard Spence’s commutation request from Anamosa State Prison after reviewing the application court records file and parole board recommendation. Spence's 1978 guilty plea covered rape assault with intent to commit rape and kidnapping from 1976 and 1977 attacks.
