Drunk Driving Charges Filed in Linn County Trio
Three people were arrested for drunken driving in Linn County late Wednesday and early today. Kevin M. Jensen, 24, of 1829 Higley Ave SE, was arrested after 7 p.m. on First Avenue at 29th Street East following a rear end collision. He also faced charges of following too closely and interfering with official acts for removing his car after being told not to. Virgil G. Kellison, 36, of 204 Seventh Ave Hiawatha, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. at Second Avenue and Willman Street. Francis J. Walker, 58, of Prairieburg was arrested at 2:06 a.m. 14 miles north of Central City, and also charged with failing to have his license plate lighted.

Billing erasure lets Bell clients off hook
Northwestern Bell customers in eastern Nebraska western Iowa eastern North Dakota and most of South Dakota were left uncharged for 535677 in long distance calls after 21 billing tapes were erased by a substitute clerk. The error occurred on November 14 during the rewinding and erasing process at the Omaha data processing center. No charges were posted and retrieved data could not be recovered. Two supervisors were demoted.
