Eisenhower preps Latin America trip in TV speech

President Eisenhower will deliver a 15 minute nationwide talk to outline the value of allies in the Free World struggle with communism as he travels to four South American nations on a two week, 15 010 mile tour beginning with Brazil. He will stress hemispheric solidarity without binding commitments. Major John Eisenhower flew to the San Carlos de Bariloche area to help prep for his father’s visit a week hence.

Eisenhower reissues defense security order with safeguards

President Eisenhower issued a new executive order to bar security risks from access to classified defense information while ensuring fair hearings for workers charged as security risks. Anamosa Woman, 21, Injured Seriously in One-Car Crash

A 21 year old Anamosa mother, Mrs. Gary Potter, was in serious condition at St. Luke's hospital Cedar Rapids after a one car crash 24 miles east of Marion on highway 151. Her husband and two children were not seriously hurt. The accident occurred at 7 30 p m on a snow covered highway.
