Iowa City officer on leave after drunken driving arrest

North Liberty police report Carlos Trevino Jr. 39 of North Liberty was found intoxicated at 2:12 a.m. Feb. 10 near Dubuque and Front streets. He refused tests, had a 0.19 BAC, and was hospitalized. Trevino is in the patrol division and is under internal investigation.

Cedar Rapids road closed for eight months for Covington bridge

Covington Road in Cedar Rapids will be closed March 2 to mid November for a $5.6 million bridge project over the future Highway 100 extension. Crews will remove embankment and replace the Covington Road bridge with a box culvert. Detour via Blairs Ferry, Edgewood, and F Avenue.
