Iowa expands online AP program to 226 schools
The Iowa Online AP Academy, started in June 2001 with 167 students from 35 of 416 high schools, has grown to serve 393 students in 226 schools. It uses trained teachers and Web curricula via home and school desktops and the Iowa Communications Network. The program targets access for small and rural districts while expanding AP offerings and teacher training to identify students in grades 7-9 for pre AP and AP curricula.
