Friends say pilot's tax feud fueled fatal Austin crash

The 53 year old Joseph Stack, an Austin software engineer and musician, posted a six page anti-government manifesto before crashing his Piper PA 28 into an IRS building. Friends describe a quiet father not known for political rants while Stack details disputes with the IRS costing him tens of thousands and years of his life. He had founded several California firms and faced state tax suspensions and unpaid bills, but these concerns were not discussed by his bandmates. The note asserts premeditation and laments his inability to articulate his anger amid a storm in his head.
