Henderson ships first 12-foot feed bodies to China
Henderson Manufacturing Co. of Manchester sent two 12-foot orange feed bodies on bright yellow GMC truck bodies to Kunming for the Yunnan Provincial Import and Export Co. Officials say these are possibly China’s first equipment of this kind. Arnold Stone led the shipment with Jim Helms and F Forbes Osberg attending the send-off with Gov. Ray’s representative.

Arbitrator backs trooper schedule in Iowa contract
An Iowa arbitrator ruled for SPOC, preserving a work cycle that gives state troopers 10 extra days off annually. The decision keeps six day blocks and two days off, followed by five and three day periods, maintaining troopers’ 251 working days per year while other state workers average 261. The ruling precedes a legislative review of the two year contract with wage increases of 8 percent annually.

Masonic regional school at Marengo dates announced
Marengo Lodge 114 announced a regional Masonic school to be held February 25 and 26. Region 3 includes Black Hawk Buchanan Delaware Benton Linn Iowa and Johnson counties with sessions at 9 am 1 15 pm and 7 15 pm each day for district lecturers and Masonic instructors. Masters and prospective instructors may attend observe or earn certification.

Settlement Ends KDUB Videotape Theft Dispute
KDUB and Dubuque County reach an out of court settlement over a seized videotape showing a wedding reception brawl. The county agrees to return the seized tape and buy a copy of the original. No charges were filed in the brawl case.
