Alburnett district plans tax cut on budget proposal
The Alburnett Community School District proposes a 2,095,735 budget with a tax rate of 17.64 per thousand, $1.65 below this year. Rampalla cites higher valuations and bond payoff as causes, with further cuts possible if growth limits reduce the budget. A March 12 hearing is set, and staffing reductions are planned to meet the budget. The board also accepted Harold Springer’s bid to remove the old Methodist Church by August 1.
