Iowa One Of Nine States Without Minor Tanning Limits

Iowa lacks a minor tanning age ban beyond a 16 year old minimum for operators. An amendment to allow 16 and 17 year olds with parental consent failed narrowly, while salons often require parents present or sign for teens to tan. Industry groups differ on safety language and enforcement.
