Beauty nun turns to hair care for the poor in Cincinnati
Sister Bonita Steinlage, a Franciscan sister for 30 years, left nursing to become a licensed cosmetologist. She runs free haircuts at Mary Magdalene House and other shelters, recruiting volunteers to help about 3,000 needy clients a year. She believes touch and grooming offer lasting dignity and hope to the downtrodden.
