Cedar Lake lease dispute delays city park plan
Cedar Rapids City Council approves a 99 year lease with Iowa Electric Light and Power for Cedar Lake but with changes. The main sticking point is liability and indemnification, with the city adding a court order requirement before termination and preserving a six month non compliance notice. The plan aims to create a public park around the lake while restricting motorized boats and major construction.
