Youth Off Road Riders grow in Iowa City cycling program
The Youth Off Road Riders club, run by Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County, has doubled to 14 riders aged youth to compete in mountain biking and cyclocross across Iowa. The program aims to combat obesity and provide motivation, training begins in March with practices at Sugar Bottom and seven cyclocross races plus eight mountain bike races scheduled. An awareness fundraiser March 7 at Trueblood Recreation Area features student bike builds and a silent auction to fund more youth participation.
