Stocks Endure Losses on New York Exchange

New York AP reports stocks fell in moderate trading with about 150 more declines than advances on the NYSE. Prices showed a broad drift lower from the open as brokers said lack of buying inspiration held prices down. Active issues included Atlantic Richfield up 1 percent to 56, Dun & Bradstreet down 1 percent to 55, Ampex down 15 to 39, Varian Associates up 2 to 27, Polaroid down 1 to 94, Brunswick up 7 to 15.

Hydro-Space Revamps Five Year Plan Under Cash Crunch

Hydro-Space Systems Corp. outlines a revised five year development plan and says it will not close. CEO Roger J. Pierce reports sales rose to about 1 million in 1969 from 366 thousand in 1968 and cites a needed 500 thousand capital injection to reach break even. The firm missed a planned 1 million stock offering due to tight money markets and cannot accept a 250 thousand government contract without financing. Production continues on contracts including FAA radio transceivers as cash flow remains tight.

Nissen Reports Million Dollar Sales Increase

Nissen Corp of Cedar Rapids reports over one million dollars more in sales for the first nine months of its fiscal year, totaling 4.8 million vs 3.7 million a year earlier. Earnings drop to 191,343 or 47 cents a share due to costs from new subsidiaries and establishing district offices. Third quarter sales reach 1.7 million, earnings 74,716 or 18 cents a share, down from prior year.
