Hotel tax grants cut as Cedar Rapids city allocates funds
Cedar Rapids voters learned last week the City Council finalised allocations from the hotel and motel tax. Fifty two groups sought 700 thousand dollars, with a total request of 158 thousand dollars awarded. Most groups did not receive their full asks, and the bulk of revenue remains earmarked for primary recipients like the CVB and city venues.
