Linn County supervisors deny extra deputy funding for recorder
County Recorder Pat Kane urged a temporary deputy be made permanent to maintain office operations. Supervisors, citing a limited budget, funded only a confidential secretary and warned that without the fourth deputy the office would have to drop a computer lease and suspend hunting and fishing license sales. Kane argued satellite deliveries and supervision require the position, while Supervisor Rinas claimed management costs already exceed other offices. The outcome hinges on the July 1 budget start.
