Luger KumariTashvili Fourth Olympic Death Praises Tragic Pattern
The report notes Nodar KumariTashvili's death as the fourth Winter Games fatality, all occurring during training rather than competition. It recalls earlier training crashes involving Ross Milne in 1964 Innsbruck, Kazimierz Kay-Skrzypecki in 1964 Innsbruck, Nicholas Bochatay in 1992 Albertville, and Jorg Oberhammer in 1988 Calgary, illustrating a grim lineage of deaths on training slopes and equipment in Olympic history.
